Architectural Window Film Aftercare
Architectural window film is designed for use on homes, offices and commercial buildings and requires relatively little maintenance.

Allow the Film to Cure
After installation, allow the film sufficient time to bond and cure before cleaning.
Wait at least 3 weeks before cleaning newly installed film, unless your installer provides different instructions.
During this period:
Do not clean the glass.
Do not press or rub the film.
Do not attempt to remove bubbles or moisture.
Avoid applying stickers or adhesive materials to the film.
Small amounts of moisture, bubbles or haze can be visible while the film is curing and should gradually disappear, over the next 6 weeks.
Cleaning Architectural Window Film
Once the film has cured, regular gentle cleaning will help maintain its appearance.
We recommend:
Soapy water
A soft cloth or soft sponge
Spray the cleaning solution onto the cloth where possible and gently wipe the surface.
Finish by drying with a clean microfibre cloth.
Avoid Abrasive Cleaning
Do not use:
Scouring pads
Rough sponges
Abrasive cloths
Razor blades
Sharp objects
Scrapers
These can scratch the surface of the film.
Take Care Around Film Edges
The edges of architectural film should be treated carefully during cleaning.
Avoid repeatedly rubbing or catching the edges with cleaning equipment.
If you notice an edge lifting or separating from the glass, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact your installer for an assessment.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
Avoid strong solvents, aggressive chemicals and abrasive cleaning products unless they have been confirmed as suitable for use with your specific window film.
If you are unsure whether a cleaning product is safe to use, contact Solasafe before applying it.

What If There Is a Problem?
If you notice peeling, lifting, cracking, discolouration, unusual bubbling or any other issue, don't attempt to remove or repair the film yourself.
Take a photograph and contact Solasafe. Our team can assess the issue and advise on the appropriate next step.
Keep Your Film Looking Its Best
The key to maintaining your window film is simple:
Allow it to cure. Clean it gently. Use soft, non-abrasive materials. Avoid harsh chemicals. Don't scratch, pick or lift the film. Take extra care around the edges.
With the right care, your Solasafe window film can continue to provide the appearance, comfort, privacy and protection it was installed for.
